I'd like to take a quick moment and say hey I didn't die or anything, just got married! And we went to hammers for a small reception.

Just have to say they were very accommodating, decent pricing, very good food! 7 months later still getting compliments. Everything was hot and tender and amazing. Amazing margaritas.

They even let us bring in our own cake.

Room was clean and dimly lit, nice atmosphere. Very much recommended.

Nona's pizza- Crestwood, IL.

THE BEST fried mushrooms I've ever had!!!!! Crispy on the outside, perky, non-soggy mushrooms on the inside bursting with flavor. Served piping hottt. Amazing.

I'm told everything there is great, but we will see, I'll keep everyone posted!!

Miller pizza by the Beach on Urbanspoon
Miller Pizza by the Beach is tucked away in a spot you wouldn't really think to look. Next to Al's, it's where Val's pizza used to be for those of you that remember that place. Overall, it's a decent place, but not on my favorites list by any means.

Walking in when we did, a Friday night around 6 o'clock, there was only about 2 tables that were taken. So it was quite empty as you can imagine. (This was a few months ago though, I imagine it might be busier in the summer) A waitress was with us promptly. My friend and I ordered a salad as an appetizer to split. For a pizza place, it was a good chicken caeser salad. Our pizza took about 20 minutes to come. Personally, I'm super impatient, so this felt like awhile, but I realize pizzas take awhile.

The pizza itself was decent, but to me, it reminded me of a frozen pizza from home. Nothing special. But nothing bad, it was good. Veggies a bit soggy, crust a little soggy, sauce was garlicy but plain.

I ordered a Butterfinger sundae as desert and was surprised to find that it came in a cup, it wasn't handmade. It was just ok, frozen, nothing special.

Overall, I would come back for lunch, not dinner. For dinner it's boring and nothing special. I would rather go to Gelsosomos for dinner. But for lunch, I know they have lunch specials that I would totally go back for, it would be a great option for lunch.

Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria on Urbanspoon
http://stop50woodfiredpizzeria.com/about.html

Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzaria

So this place is lesser known probably because of its location. It's out in Michiana Shores, but very very easy to find, right off the highway. They only have one type of crust- thin Naples style, and as their name suggests, they fire the pizza in a 900 degree oven. Not all their pizzas have red sauce, ours for instance had an olive oil base.

When we arrived around 5, there was only one other table and we were told to seat ourselves. The place is REALLY small, I would guess around 15-17 tables. After we were seated, the hostess, who was very nice and informative, told us about all their seasonal specials. Then we were left to wait for our waiter, which we did A LOT. He came and in a barely audible tone asked is what we wanted to drink. Water. Took longer than it should have. We then ordered an appetizer, I forgot the name of it but it was basically fried bread strips with garlicy salt and cheese, with very spicy marinara dipping sauce that had a big glob of goat cheese in it. It was so hot! (Temperature wise) which is good. It was very big too. Perfect for two people. We ordered our pizza as soon as the appetizer came. It took about 15-20 minutes for it to come. More and more people were coming in by then, around 6 o'clock. Our pizza came, and our waiter dropped and ran. Some friends had asked me to bring a pizza to them to try, so I Needed to order it but since the waiter dropped and ran I had to flag him down. The waiter for the table next to us was awesome, attentive and was suggesting things, ours hardly talked. The pizza was hot, but I thought the crust was burnt and the bottom was soggy. The pizza wasn't very flavorful, it tasted like mushrooms and garlic mostly. It was all salty. It was still really good though. After three pieces I was stuffed, and still had to order dessert. There were 8 peices total, about enough for two people. Then it was lemon gelato for me, pistachio for my friend. I loved the gelato. Had to turn around and glare at the waiter for him to come and take our order. But-Loved loved loved the gelato. It was so flavorful! Came Quick, was my favorite part of the meal. Best three dollars ever spent. Speaking of money, that place is expensive for my taste! I like my Wana Pizza for 10.99, and this pizza was 15$ plus 3$ for the prosciutto. Then add appetizer, and dessert, plus tip, yikes. Good thing we split most of our food. 18 a piece, but I had to pay another 18 for my Togo pizza, making mine 36 before tip. But think, if you go with your family that includes kids and you order two pizzas and soft drinks and alcohol, woah.

I think it's a nice place, but just for every so often. I think it's perfect for a bridal or baby shower, small place and decent food.

All in all, our service wasn't great, but seeing the other waiter it could have been. It is a little pricy for pizza. I like the atmosphere.

Would I go back? Yes, but I would go to Gelsosomos for pizza first. If I went back, it would be for something different and not pizza.

Bridges Waterside Grille on Urbanspoon
Bridges is kind of a little hidden away place! If you are on the boulevard,(Michgan blvd for all you out of towners) and you get to that intersection where you turn right to go to BlueChip or left for the beach, go straight and you end up in a little area that is lesser known. Turn right and you go straight to Bridges. The resturant has a companion motel B&B type place as well. They are not attached. When we arrived around 4 there was NO ONE else there. So our service was really quick. They serve their drinks in these cute little plastic cups. The whole eating area is picnic tables with umbrellas. There is a bar area with patio furniture. On the menu, it explains everything there is handmade so it asks you to be patient. It also tells the story of the resturant, something to the effect of a dad buying it, his kids humoring him and helping, then staying as it became more and more successful. But don't quote me on that. We ordered fried asparagus as an appetizer. Yes I said FRIED asparagus! It was so good! I loved the ranch like sauce that came with it. It was too hot to eat at first, the way I like it. It came in less than 10 minutes, maybe even 5. I ordered a turkey artichoke spinach sandwich with seasoned fries and that came in about 10-15 mins. It was very good! I loved the fries. And the sauce on the sandwich was sort of like spinach and artichoke dipping sauce. By this time, more people were coming in so the service slowed down. We were not asked about dessert. We ordered fried cookie dough. Can you believe it?! It was great! Came with ice cream and arrived in about 5-10 mins. After the appetizer and Entrée we split it which was perfect.

The resturant sits where trail creek starts. The bridge there moves and makes a VERY loud noise. So don't be alarmed when it does it happened 2-3 times when we were there for about an hour.

I paid 15$ for my meal +tip.

All in all, I love the place. I like the atmosphere and the food. You can even buy Tshirts in their little store. I love this place compared to Mateys.

Would I go again? Def yes. 4/5 stars.

Brewster's Italian Cafe on Urbanspoon
So Brewsters!

What's really unique about this resturant is that their menu changes EVERY DAY. So what you get might not be there the next time you go back. We chose to sit outside in the garden. It's a really pretty atmosphere and there's even heaters out there for cooler weather. I was attacked by flies but what could I expect? We arrived around I want to say 4 or 5 and there was no one else outside. Our waiter was ready for our order before we were ready to give it. Was quick to refill my water. You get bread while you are waiting and it comes with shredded cheese, tasted like asiago. And there is olive oil on the table. Very yummy. I ordered the beef tips and it came with soup or salad. Neither or the soups appealed to me so I got the salad which was really good, the house dressing was surprisingly flavorful. Kind of like a thicker creamy Italian zesty thing. I think the food came quick, but more and more people started to trickle in, slowing down our service. My beef tips came with asparagus and sweet and spicy peppers, Gorgonzola cheese, and filled pasta. I don't know what the pasta was filled with but it was sweet, but very very good. After the salad and bread, and knowing we were getting dessert, I could only eat half. We had to ask for the dessert menu. I got the New York style cheesecake with strawberries. So good! Really rich, as cheesecake should be. We had a coupon that was either 20% or 20 dollars off I don't remember. But that coupon included 18% gratuity. You had to order two dinner entrees to use to coupon. My friend got a pesto chicken ravioli dish, I thought it was good but salty. My friend also got tiramisu which was huge and AMAZING.

All in all, I love the place. It's more red sauce Italian than white sauce Italian lol. Like more lasagna that Alfredo. But good. I would definitely go back. But the place is expensive! It's a treat, even with a coupon. I especially like New Buffalo in general, I like the beach vibe and the resturant is right in the heart of downtown.

4/5 stars.

Hello all! I know it's been a while since I've reviewed a restaurant. I recently went up to New Buffalo and ate at Brewsters! Will review it later even though its not a Michigan City resturant. Till then!
